How does a person live in the shadows without ever being able to reveal their own identity? For many Romani people in Europe this is unfortunately still part of their daily life.
We open this year’s festival with a short film and a feature documentary: LINDY. THE RETURN OF LITTLE LIGHT by Ida Persson Lännerberg, which deals with the challenge of Swedish actor, dancer and singer Lindy Larsson to come out with his Romani identity, to come into the light. The short film TRAVELLER PRIDE by Julie Colman also offers a reflection on the entanglement of Roma and LGBT identity. The cabaret artist and actress Idil Baydar will be the host of our opening night. After the screenings there will be the opportunity to exchange ideas with the producer Lisa Smith (TRAVELLER PRIDE) and the protagonist Lindy Larsson.
